A shoot with the President
by Joe on Nov.25, 2009, under Photography, Reception, Wedding
This last weekend my wife and I flew to our nations capitol to shoot a wedding for Kim and Craig Ballard. We spent a couple days seeing the sights, and these are some shots of the presidential monuments.
Above is a sunset shot of the Jefferson Memorial. That is natural lighting by the way. This was a very slow shutter and the night mist enhanced the purples in the night sky. Below is the Lincoln Memorial. I like how the statue of President Lincoln is visible between the columns.
We had a wonderful shoot at the Washington D.C. Temple with Kim and Craig. They are so fun, and so classy. I love Kim’s dress. It is very vintage and just extremely elegant. Very fitting for Kim.
There wasn’t much daylight left, but we took the bride and groom over to the monuments in downtown D.C. We had to move fast but we got a couple great shots with the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

I love this shot because as soon as Kim and Craig came on the scene, all the tourists were cheering and congratulating them. Notice all the Japanese tourists with their cameras snapping away right behind the bride and groom. Kim and Craig performed under pressure really well gave us some great images. Good work guys!

Finally they held their reception at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in downtown D.C. I have to say this is probably the nicest reception I’ve been to. In the wedding industry you see a lot of really nice places and venues, and it isn’t very often I get wowed anymore. But seriously, wow, I felt like I was on set of a classic Clarke Gabel movie.

Everything was fantastic. The food was amazing, the live band was rockin’, the guests and family were having a blast and they topped it all off with a sparkler send off and an intimate horse drawn carriage ride through D.C. They really know how to do it up right. It truly was an honor to be there and capture this fabulous evening on video.
Sealing at the Draper Temple
by Andy on Nov.14, 2009, under Photography, Wedding
Shad and Siri were married two years ago at The Old Meeting House. About three weeks ago, I had the privilege of working with them again for their sealing that took place in the LDS Draper Temple. Little did I know, but Shad is quite the romantic. Just before their sealing, he took Siri to the Draper Temple and asked her to marry him again. He even included a new band for her wedding ring. Here are a few of my favorite pics…

Engagements at the Rice-Eccles Stadium
by Andy on Nov.12, 2009, under Engagements, Photography
Last week I had a great time taking Hillary and Breck’s engagement pictures at the U of U football stadium. Breck rented the stadium for a few hours and we had the whole place to ourselves. It was a lot of fun. Hillary and Breck are big Ute football fans. Breck had a huge smile on his face the whole time and would randomly just start running around on the field. It was awesome. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Can you believe this was taken in November?

I asked them to give me their disappointed fan pose, and this is what they gave me. I love their poses. I laugh every time I see this shot, because I bet it’s exactly how they might react while watching a football game.
Camilla & Bridger’s Wedding
by Andy on Nov.10, 2009, under Photography, Reception, Wedding
Camilla & Bridger were married at the Salt Lake Temple and their reception was that evening at the Magnolia Grove Reception Center. It was a little cold outside the temple grounds, but Bridger did a good job of keeping Camilla warm. Their reception was a lot of fun. One thing I admire the most about the Latin American culture is that they sure do love to dance.

Camilla’s Bridals
by Andy on Nov.10, 2009, under Bridals, Photography
These bridals were actually shot a few weeks ago, but we’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to post them until now. That and the fact that you can’t normally post bridals until after the wedding’s taken place. (I wouldn’t want Bridger sneaking around to see his bride before the wedding day.) Camilla and Bridger picked this beautiful location. It was a gorgeous home located on Walker Lane…very very nice neighborhood.

Great Salt Lake Family Shoot
by Andy on Nov.06, 2009, under Photography
Here are some family pics I took a while ago for some good friends of ours at the Great Salt Lake. We had a great time until the mosquitoes came out and started attacking us. Aside from the bug bites, we all had fun.

Wedding In the Hills
by Joe on Nov.03, 2009, under Photography, Reception, Wedding
Jaomi and Casey were married at the beautiful Hidden Springs Ranch in Altamont Utah. It was a gorgeous day with a gorgeous setting and such a happy couple.
The Hidden Springs Ranch is an intimate setting set back in the hills of Duchesne County. It is a large log cabin lodge with it’s own private lake out front.
Jaomi, Casey and their wedding party were so much fun and their crazy personalities show in the pictures. Jaomi had a little shadow all day.
Her daughter Brooke was in a full bridal gown with veil and the whole works. They even had a little groom for her. These two were inseperable and loved walking around all evening holding hands.
Brooke even got a special ring from Casey just like Mommy did. She was so precious all night.
Jaomi and Casey put on a great event and it was a privilege to be there and a privilege to capture the pure love these two have for eachother. Thanks for the memorable night guys!
